Welcome to Tri-County CAA

Community Action changes people's lives, embodies the spirit of hope, improves communities and makes America a better place to live. We care about the entire community and we are dedicated to helping people help themselves and each other.

The Caring Adult Day Center

Our program is state-certified to meet the needs of caregiver and the older adult who needs supervision. We added an additional 1000 square feet to the center, including a treatment room and shower. Our staff training includes aging, dementia, first aid, and CPR. We provide services to clients from Henry, East Jefferson, Oldham, and Trimble Counties, but welcome and older adult with special circumstances.

Monday - Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm

Our Client Services Representatives will assist you to determine your eligibility and the first visit is free. Generally, our clients have memory and judgement issues, but are able to walk with a cane or walker. If the client uses a wheelchair, they are able to transfer with minimal assistance.

We offer a safe environment for socialization, some exercise, fun activities, a light breakfast, hot catered lunch, and afternoon snack. Each month we prepare an activities calendar and mail it with the menu for your review.

As a non-profit agency, we receive supplemental funding to help keep our costs low. At present, KIPDA is partially funding our lunch program. In addition, we have applied to become Medicaid provider through the Community-based Waiver program. However, it is a long process, which is in progress. At this time, out-of-pocket fees to use the adult day services are $4.13 per half-hour or $8.25 per hour.

An OPTIONAL AM and PM transportation route is available at $4.00 per trip ($8 round trip) for Oldham County clients. Also, some East Jefferson and Henry County clients are eligible for transportation services. All transportation must be approved and setup prior to use.

We offer a Caregiver Support Group, which is sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association, the first Monday of the month at 5:30pm in the Adult Day Center. However, if the first Monday is a holiday, the group meets on the second Monday. If you are having problems with behaviors, or need to give yourself a break -- this is the group for you! It's free and open to all.

Located in Buckner -- off Hwy 393. Just down the street from Oldham County High School, behind the County Extension Center, and back by the lake.
